AROMA:

A wide bouquet that ranges between fruits (plums,marasca cherries, blackberries) and spices (vanilla,chocolate,liquorice).

COLOUR:

Garnet red with ruby highlights.

TASTE:

Costamagna Barolo Bricco Francesco Riserva is full-bodied with smooth and elegant tannins. Long aftertaste with a pleasant recall to the perfumes. Maceration for 3 weeks at 26°C. Aging for 36 months in 30 Hl Slavonian oak casks and 24 months in bottle.

The grapes are coming from a 40 years old single vineyard located in the sub zone of Rocche dell’Annunziata in La Morra. Bricco Francesco is a hill top of 1,70 Ha – this is the highest and best exposed part of the area. Yields per hectare is 35 Hl/Ha – 1 Kg per vine. This Barolo is named after the founder’s name, Francesco Costamagna, great grandfather of today’s owners.

FOOD COMBINATION:

Excellent with braised and roasted red meat, game, truffle based dishes and aged cheese.
