AROMA:
Very open, fragrant, appealing wine with a powerful, yet well-balanced bouquet. It has a pervasive nose showing hints of roses, raspberries and underbrush, slight vanilla and liquorice overtones, and notes of amaretto and tobacco.
COLOUR:
Monastero Barolo Perno is deep, bright ruby red in colour.
TASTE:
On the palate it is full-bodied, with tannins that are very dense and biting, yet never aggressive, showing the wine’s considerable breadth and consistency.
FOOD COMBINATION:
It makes a perfect match for meat and game, and its fragrance is set off perfectly by typical Piedmontese-style antipasti.
