AROMA:
A nose that manages to be both fruity – conjuring up red berries, raspberries and wild strawberries, cherries in spirit and jam – and at the same time spicy, with hints of cinnamon and pepper, nutmeg and vanilla.
COLOUR:
A full, intense garnet red colour.
TASTE:
A wine with great structure, it has a powerful, complex bouquet which is capable of evolving over time without losing any of its fascinating qualities.
Dry, full-bodied, robust and rich, yet smooth and round.
FOOD COMBINATION:
Roast and braised meats, furred game, kid goat, lamb, and strongly-flavoured cheeses, though it will also readily accompany sweets, such as Barolo-flavoured albesi chocolates, bugia fritters, marrons glacés or traditional tartara almond pudding.
